Business Horizons Summer Program

Register to Attend Business Horizons Summer Program for High School Students

Business Horizons is a week-long, hands-on, action-oriented summer program for high schools students provided by the Iowa Association of Business and Industry Foundation and its partners: the Iowa Department of Education, Iowa Bankers Association, Junior Achievement of Central Iowa, Central College and local Chambers of Commerce across the state. Business Horizons has enjoyed over 20 successful years educating young people about economics, the free enterprise system, entrepreneurship, skills needed to be successful in today's workplace, and about opportunities available in the state of Iowa.

During Business Horizons, high school students from across the state will actively engage in business-related activities including:

  • Developing a product
  • Making financial decisions (via a business simulation) about operations
  • Creating a marketing plan and television infomercial
  • Preparing and delivering a 10-minute formal presentation to investors
  • Participating in a trade-show

Scholarship: Any student, who participates in Business Horizons and who applies, is admitted and chooses to attend Central College, will be guaranteed a minimum of $12,000 in Central College scholarship assistance, renewable for all four years.
